Bendigo Community Cat Program

Register Your Interest in BARC's Discount Cat Desexing Program

The Bendigo Community Cat Program commenced in 2021 to provide low cost desexing, vaccination, microchipping and Council pet registration to encourage Bendigo Residents caring for an acquired cat (a community cat) to become responsible pet owners.

The program is supported by Animal Welfare Victoria and aims to support lower income households and our community's vulnerable residents to better improve welfare outcomes for cats in their care, and decrease the number of unwanted cats and kittens in our community.

Places in the program are limited, we ask that you complete the questions below and return the form to [email protected] to determine if you are eligible.

If accepted into the program, you will be contacted by one of our team members to explain the next steps in the process.

Once a surgery date is booked, the cat will need to be admitted to BARC the evening prior to the surgery date and will be available for collection the morning after the surgery date, a total of two nights in care at BARC. Please note that failure to collect your cat at the required time may incur boarding fees of $25/day.
